Agenda:
Ensuring rapid and equitable vaccine development and distribution, and establishing a universally accepted ethical framework

For years, humans have looked for ways to protect themselves. It is always disheartening to see the disparities where vaccines, instead of serving as a boon to humankind, are subjected to capitalist strategies. The pharmaceutical race is a common term used for these practices, which include human/animal trials, non-consensual trials, biological warfare by not considering dire side effects, and many more. The WHO advocates for a just healthcare infrastructure for all to create a healthy environment. With the issue of the vaccine divide, this goal seems even more crucial. To ensure this, there is a growing need for an ethical framework that can address these concerns. The central focus also lies in research development and bridging the health divide in countries like the Pacific nations and African nations.

Tejeshwi Solanki

Chairperson, WHO

My name is Tejeshwi Solanki and it's an honor to serve as your Chairperson for the World Health Organisation this year.  I am a history enthusiast with a knack for economic theories, well you’ll also find me claiming to be “an entrepreneur in making”.

For this year in WHO we’ll be discussing the pressing issue of vaccine development while considering an ethical framework in mind. afar from this, I look forward to the committee session to hear your perspectives on the committee and hope you’ll have the same amount of fun working and researching on this agenda as we had while making the study guides for you.
Best of luck researching!
